Can We Talk?

January 31 – February 2, 2025

This weekend we explore the obstacles that stand in our way when we try to talk about difficult topics. When powerful, pent-up emotions rise to the surface — whether anger, fear, grief, shame, or rage –we can get overheated, defensive, vengeful or shut down, turning away from each other in defeat. At present, many fear that we are losing our ability to reach one another in meaningful ways, caught in the current of unprocessed grief, both on a personal and global level. Whether racism, classism, gender, political leanings or moral positions, we often get mired in miscommunications and retreat to our own stances, unheard and unhearing. This weekend we will focus our attention on opening up the conversation.
