NDJ:8 “Time” by S.A. Howell

He has control of time…he seems to have more time than anyone else. by Tim Carrol, on Shakespearian actor Mark Rylance, in“After Hamlet” The New Yorker, May 3, 2008

Holding
time by the tip of its tongue
determination fails in a moment
gold medal lost won
space where a crash is waiting to
appear and
a death waiting to take its place
a no becomes yes—yes a falling

As a space where a life lives itself out

That slippery place
between reproach and forgiveness
to be caught or dropped
burn becomes
a scar
falling endlessly
short

A thing moving between me and my breath.
